1. The square of an integer is 15 more than twice an
integer. Find the integer.​

first integer = n

second integer =2n+3

n(2n+3)=(2n+3)2 -54

2n2+3n =4n2+12n+9-54

2n2+9n-45 =0

Use quadratic formula with a=2, b=9, c=-45.

n=−b± √(b2−4ac) /2a

n=−(9)±√((9)2−4(2)(−45) )/2(2)

n=(−9±441)/4

n=3 or n=−15/2

first integer = n =3

second integer =2n+3=9
