1.let the numbers be x and y

therefore,atq,

x+y=16------(1)

x-y=2--------(2)

multiplying 1 and 2 by 1 and by addition,

2x=18

thus,x=9 and y=16-x=16-9=7

question number 2,i can't sorry.

Step-by-step explanation:

1.let first number to be =x

and second number to be = y

therefore A.T.Q

x + y = 16----- eq1

x= 16-y

and their difference

x -y= 2----- eq2

putting value of x in eq2

16- y= 2

therefore y = 14

and by putting value of y in eq1 we will get the value of x that is

x= 2

now the product of these two numbers is x*y

= 28

madhumita40: sorry it's wrong
madhumita40: Ans should be 63
madhumita40: but. thanks
arpi1401: oh! i know my mistake.the value of y is seven and value of x is nine.....so in this manner their product will be 63
arpi1401: sorry for wrong answer...
