Answer:

The seagull fell off as he leaned forward and as he fell a monstrous terror seized him and his heart stood still. He could hear nothing. But it only lasted a minute. The next moment he felt his wings spread outwards. He could feel the tips of his wings cutting through the air. He was not falling headlong now. He was soaring gradually downwards and outwards and was no longer afraid. Then he flapped his wings once and he soared upwards. Then he completely forgot that he had not always been able to fly, and commended himself to dive and soar and curve, shrieking shrilly.

The narrative of a baby seagull who is scared of flying is told in Liam O' Flaherty's 'His First Flight.' On a ledge, a group of seagulls dwelt. A juvenile seagulls is left alone since he is terrified of flying and is one of the slow learners. All this small bird required was some motivation. As a form of retaliation, his family abandoned him on the cliff and flew away. They chastised him, mocked him for his timidity, and even attempted to starve him. For the next twenty-four hours, he was hungry and unable to overcome his fear of flying. He wailed out, pleading with his mother to give him food.

Answer:

Then he was overcome by a dreadful terror, and his heart stopped beating. He was unable to hear anything. But only for a little moment. He felt his feathers grow outwards the following minute. The wind brushed over his shoulder feathers, then his tummy, and finally his wings. The tips of his wings were cutting through the air, he could feel it. He was no longer tumbling headlong. He was gradually soaring downwards and forth, no longer terrified. He was just a little dizzy. He then soared skyward after flapping his wings once. His mother soared by him, making a tremendous noise with her wings. He retaliated with another scream. Then his father screamed and flew over him. He saw his two brothers and sister curving and banking, soaring and diving all around him. As he leaned forward, the bird flew away, engulfing him in a horrible horror that brought his heart to a halt. He was unable to hear anything. But that was only for a minute. He felt his feathers grow outwards the following minute. The tips of his wings were cutting through the air, he could feel it. He was no longer tumbling headlong. He was no longer terrified as he was progressively rising downwards and outwards. He then soared skyward after flapping his wings once. Then he totally forgot that he couldn't always fly and praised himself on his ability to dive, soar, and curve while shrieking shrilly.
