( 3 ) becomes , xy - 2y = 96 .........( 5 )
from ( 4 ) 2x = 288 - xy
= 288 - 192 = 96
or x = 48
from ( 1 ) y = 192/x = 192/48
= 4
so x = 48 , y = 4
