1. [Ti(H20)6]3+ is a colored complex whereas (Ti(H20)6/4+ is colourless. -Explain why?

Answer:

in the first compound there is one unpaired electron which gives colour to the corresponding compound while in the second case there is the lack of unpaired electrons in the d subshell.that is the reason for the coloured appearence of the first one and the colourless nature of the second.
