10.44 is the resultant force

Given:

Two forces 5N and 7N

To find:

Resultant force = ?

Solution:

Two forces are acting on a particle at an angle of 60 degrees then resultant force will be given by the parallelogram of vector addition method according to which if two vectors are acting as per the two sides of parallelogram then “resultant force” will act in direction of diagonal.

\begin{array}{l}{F_{1}=5 N} \\ {F_{2}=7 N}\end{array}

Resultant force =\sqrt{\left(F_{1}^{2}+F_{2}^{2}+2 F_{1} F_{2} \cos \theta\right)}

\Rightarrow \sqrt{25+49+35}=\sqrt{109}=10.44

10.44 is the resultant force.
