ɢɪᴠᴇɴ:

  • Two points P and Q are maintained at a potential difference of 10V and 4V .

ᴛᴏ ғɪɴᴅ:

  • The work done in moving 100 electrons from P to Q .

ᴀɴsᴡᴇʀ :

We know that work done equals to

★ Work done = q ( V - v ) ★

where ( V - v ) is the difference of potential at two points and q is the charge.

Now charge on one electron is 1.6 × 10^ -19 C .

Hence charge on 100 electrons

= 1.6 × 10^-19 × 100.

= 1.6 × 10^-17.

Here we are taking charge from P to Q ,so Potential difference will be (4 - 10 ) V = -6V .

On putting the respective values ,

=> W = q ( V - v ).

=> W = 1.6 × 10^-19 C × -6 V

=> W = -9.6 × 10^ -19 J

Hence the work done is -9.6 × 10^-19 J .
