1. We can write easily with a pen in our skin but difficult to write with a pencil in our skin. Explain why?

Your skin is also in general much "oilier" compared to a piece of paper and the problem is oil on your skin isn't regular too, which makes it harder for a pencil to leave a regular mark or trail on it. So no, the reason is mainly physical and not chemical.

2. Does pen ink is harmful for our skin and does it causes skin cancer?

No, not at all because:-

  • It's just ink.
  • The ink doesn't damage your skin/cells.
  • The ink is limited to the upper layer of the skin and it does not go so deep.

3. What will happen if the lead of pencil will go inside our skin? Will it be harmful?

Basically, it's an unintentional stick and poke tattoo. It's also not harmful, since pencils these days are made with graphite, not lead.

“A pencil is a dirty object, so you're puncturing the skin with a dirty object, so you could potentially get a bacterial infection,” said Rokhsar.
