rainbows are formed due to the reflection of white light through the droplets of water after rain. It is a very colourful band of light in the sky because due to dispersion of light, white light gets dispersed into 7 colours I.e VIBGYOR ( violet, indigo, blue, green, yellow, orange, red)

Answer:

Secondary rainbows are caused by a double reflection of sunlight inside the water droplets. ... The secondary rainbow is fainter than the primary because more light escapes from two reflections compared to one and because the rainbow itself is spread over a greater area of the sky.
