There are three major branches of biology – botany, zoology and microbiology. Botany is the branch of biology which deals with the study of different aspects of plants. Theophrastus is known as the father of Botany. Zoology is the branch of biology connected with the study of different aspects of animals.

♠Botany:- It is the study of plants. Everything which is related to the plants, the types of cells in it, their reproduction, pollination and fertilization ,their different parts, etc.
♦For example:- plants like mango tree, palm tree. Fowers are also included in plants like China rose, sunflower, etc.
♠Zoology: It is the study of animals. The study of animals include their reproduction, types of cells in animals, kinds of tissues, their behaviour, their interaction etc.
♠Human biology or Anthropology :- The study of human as a living organism and his relationship with other living organisms. The study of humans and their interaction with environment or society comes under Anthropology or human biology.
