Chemical equation:-The method of representing a chemical reaction with the help of symbol and formulae of the substances involved in it is known as chemical equations.

For example:- 2Mg+O2->2MgO.

According to the law of conservation of mass (Lavoisier)mass can neither be created nor be destroyed in a chemical reaction but the total mass of the elements present in the product of a chemical remains same as total mass of elements present in reactants. In other words the number of atoms of each element remains the same before and after the chemical Reaction . Therefore we need to balance a chemical equation .

Hey mate !
______

1. Chemical Equation :-

• It is basically a symbolical representation of chemical reactions Where L.H.S part indicates reactants as well as R.H.S indicates products and they are separated by an arrow sign ' --> '

Ex •••> Al (OH)3 + NaOH -----> Na2Al2O4

Also,

• In both reactants and products, we can give a symbol to represent in which state they are :-

• Gases ---> (g) symbol

• Liquids ---> (l) symbol

• Solids -----> (s) symbol

• Solution ---> (aq) symbol

These symbols should only be placed just after the compounds in the given chemical equation.

2. We all are associated with a famous law named "Law of conservation of Mass". This law states that Mass can neither be created not be destroyed and it can only be converted from form to another.

✓ It is necessary to have a balanced chemical equation because the amounts of reactants used and of products produced are essential to a proper assessment of any reaction.

✓ The appropriate molar relationships are also verified by the conservation of mass for each and every element involved in the reaction.

Hope it helps !
