Answer:

Explanation:

1)the resistance that one surface or object encounters when moving over another.

Most of the surfaces we come across in our daily life are not perfectly smooth. They have rough surfaces which interlock with one another.

When we try to push a rough body placed on a rough surface these interlockings provide a hinderence to the motion of body due to the force we are applying.

The hinderence provided by interlocking of surfaces is known as friction.

2)The friction force depends on two factors: a) The materials that are in contact. The two materials and the nature of their surfaces.

3)Static friction is the friction that exists between a stationary object and the surface on which it's resting. Once the objects have already started moving, kinetic friction takes over.

Limiting friction is the maximum value of static friction that comes into play when a body is just at the point of sliding over the surface of another body.

The term sliding friction refers to the resistance created by two objects sliding against each other. This can also be called kinetic friction. Sliding friction is intended to stop an object from moving.
