2. Differentiate between virus and worm. 3. How do you know your computer has a virus?
Answers
A Malware is intrusive software that is designed to damage and destroy computers and computer systems. Malware is a contraction for “malicious software.” Examples of common malware includes viruses, worms, Trojan viruses, spyware, adware, and ransomware.
B The primary difference between a virus and a worm is that viruses must be triggered by the activation of their host; whereas worms are stand-alone malicious programs that can self-replicate and propagate independently as soon as they have breached the system.
C If you notice any of the following issues with your computer, it may be infected with a virus:
Slow computer performance (taking a long time to start up or open programs)
Problems shutting down or restarting.
Missing files.
Frequent system crashes and/or error messages.
Unexpected pop-up windows.
