1) The melancholy darkness gently weeps in the form of rain drops. The rain creates an echo in his heart. It also brings thousand dreamy fancies alive to his mind. The poet listens to the patter caused by the sounds of the raindrops on the roof.

2) In the poem 'Rain on the roof' the poet loves the sound of the rain and lies on his bed to hear the patter of the rain drops. Yes, I do like the rains, as the poet, but rather than sitting inside, i go out and drench myself in the rain and eat pakodas with chutney, made by my mother.

3) Yes, my mother also used to 'tuck me' like as the poet's mother did when I was a 'young child'. When I was a child, whenever I said that I could not do some work, she used to hold me tightly in one arm and took me in her lap to get that work done.
