Answer. Answer: Shylock want to take revenge in any way from Antonio, as Antonio is not able to give 3000 ducats hence as per promise he wants his flesh which is nearer to his heart. It shows that he was a revengeful person.

Shylock appears to a tyrant father. He would not allow his daughter to be married to a Christian . He was very devilish and when she eloped, wished that it would be better if she was dead at his feet with all his money and jewels.
