Journey by train has its own appeal and romance. I have enjoyed many journeys by train. But one particular train journey stands out in my mind.
It was summer vacation; my family had decided to go to Shimla by toy train. We were to board the train from Kalka, a small railway station from where the toy train starts.
The blue colored coaches of the train were immaculately clean. Everything was comparatively smaller. It appeared to be fairy train. It started in the early afternoon. On the way it passed through long tunnels, very high viaducts offering the eye innumerable breathtaking views of the scenic beauty.
At hairpin turns, the train became very slow. Many passengers would get down the train and walk along. The train took a halt at some heavenly village station where we had some delicious snacks with tea. The weather conditions were exceedingly pleasant at the high mountains.
The 8 hour long journey was so beautiful refreshing that we did not feel the lapse of time. We reached Shimla station at 7 p.m. We hired a cab and reached hotel fully rejuvenated by the beautiful journey. The entire family had so much of fun on that unforgettable train journey.

A train journey is a most wonderful experience , anyone can have . I have experienced a very adventurous journey. Our group has planned a trip for Darjeeling. we reached the station but the timing was very early in the morning, the next day and boarded the train. The train started off at 6.00 a.m.
I sat by the window and enjoyed the passing scenery. The sights of numerous rivers, bridges, countryside, evergreen paddy fields, lush green tea gardens, vast plains, etc. enchanted me a lot.
In the late afternoon we reached New Jalpaiguri station, which is the gateway . when we get off the train , we saw a large crowd of people , the coming and the going trains and submerged in the stalls of the station and started enrolling the platform. we didn't even realise how quickly the time has passed.
Suddenly we saw our train moving. We were at the far end of the platform and ran with all speed and might to catch the train. I ran after my friends to catch the train.As I was about to reach the train, I slipped and fell on the platform. I saw my train speeding away before my sight. I shivered with fear.
Just then a coolie lifted me and ran with me to the door, where my friends pulled me in. I just looked back and waved my hands at the good Samaritan, who had helped megot only a glimpse of his face.
I can never forget this memorable journey.
It was, by far, the most unforgettable journey of my life- a journey that has left its deep scars on the canvas of my life.
