1. When will you say a body is in
(i) uniform acceleration? (ii) non-
uniform acceleration?
2. A bus decreases its speed from
80 km h to 60 km h in 5s.
Find the acceleration of the bus.
3. A train starting from a railway
station and moving with uniform
acceleration attains a speed
40 km hl in 10 minutes. Find its
acceleration.

Answer: ans 2

Initial velocity u = 80 km h-1

80*1000/60*60= 22.22ms-1

Final velocity u = 60kmph

60*1000/ 60*60= 16.66ms-1

Time t= 5s , a =?

a = v-u/t = 16.66-22.22/5 = - 1.11ms-2

The acceleration of bus is -1.11 m s-.

ans.3

v=u+at

ig v=0, u=40kmh-1, t= 10min

put the values in eq. v= u+at

0= 40 +a10

-40=a10

a= -4m/s2

so, body is non-uniform motion
