Correct Question :

• Which term of a sequence 4, 7, 10, 13 --- is 37?

B) 12th term

C) 13thterm

D) 10thterm

A) 11th term

ANSWER :

GIVEN :

Given series is 4 , 7 , 10 , 15 , .......... 37.

TO FIND :

Which term is 37 of given series = ?

SOLUTION :

• We know that nth term of A.P.

  \\  \large \:    \longrightarrow  \: { \boxed{ \sf  T_{n} = a + (n - 1)d}} \\

• Here –

  \\   \sf \:  \:  \:  \: { \huge{.}} \:  \: a = first \:  \: term \:  = 4 \\

  \\   \sf \:  \:  \:  \: { \huge{.}} \:  \: d = common \:  \: difference \:  = 3 \\

  \\   \sf \:  \:  \:  \: { \huge{.}} \:  \:  T_{n}  = n \th \:  \: term \:  = 37 \\

• So that –

  \\  \:  \implies  \: \sf  37 = 4+ (n - 1)3 \\

  \\   \:  \implies  \: \sf  37 = 4+ 3n - 3 \\

  \\ \:   \implies  \: \sf  37 =  3n  + 1 \\

  \\  \ \:   \implies  \: \sf  3n =  36 \\

  \\  \:    \implies  \: \sf  n =  \cancel  \dfrac{36}{3}  \\

  \\  \large    \implies  {\boxed{ \sf  n =  12}}  \\

  \\   \sf   { \huge{.}}  12 \th \:  \: term  \:  \:  of \:  \: A.P. \:  \: is \:  \: 37\\

• Hence Option (B) is correct .

✰✰ ANSWER ✰✰

\implies\tt{4,7,10,13 .. is\:37?}

Using : -

\implies\tt{\large{\boxed{\bold{\bold{\purple{\sf{{T}_{n}=a+(n-1)d}}}}}}}

Here : -

  • First Term (a) = 4
  • Common Difference (d) = 3
  • {T}_{n} (nth Term) = 37

Putting Values : -

\implies\tt{37=4(n-1)3}

\implies\tt{37=4+3n-3}

\implies\tt{-3n=4-3-37}

\implies\tt{-3n=1-37}

\implies\tt{-3n=-36}

\implies\tt{n=\cancel\dfrac{-36}{-3}}

\green\longmapsto\:\large\underline{\boxed{\bf\blue{n}\orange{=}\red{12}}}

So, Option B) 12th Term is Correct....
