Answer:

The primary reason why the color red is used for danger signals is that red light is scattered the least by air molecules. The effect of scattering is inversely related to the fourth power of the wavelength of a color. ... So red light is able to travel the longest distance through fog, rain, and the alike

Question:

Why danger signs are red in colour?

Answer:

As we know that the red colour has higher wavelength than other colours like violet, indigo, blue, green, yellow and orange.

Because of it's higher wavelength it is not scattered by the dust particles, water droplets etc. While on the other hand colours like; violet, blue etc were scattered because of their less wavelength.

As the colours whose wavelength is less or small are scattered by dust and water particles don't reach out eyes. While the red colour whose wavelength is large reaches our eyes. Due to this we easily see the red colour in fog.

That's why danger signs are red in colour.
