During the rule of Louis XVI , the prices of the bread were at its peak. Most of the people of third estate was labourers.The wages of the labours were not increasing in reference to the increasing prices of bread. By the time, the population of France rose  from 23 million to 28 million but production of crops was the same as before. So there was a struggle of poor people to survive.
