1)Why in Galvanic cell the electrons are moving only from zinc to copper and not from copper to zinc. 2)Why in Galvanic cell only zinc and copper electrodes are only used. Why not other electrodes

Explanation:

1) Electrons move from zinc to copper because just like electric current electrons move from the higher potential to the lower potential. Since, zinc is releasing electrons therefore, they are higher at this end and move towards copper.

2) Copper and zinc are used as electrodes because we need those electrodes which have high potential difference between them in terms of oxidation reduction which causes the electrons to move.

Here, Zinc releases electrons and copper accepts them
