  1. Potassium reacts with water and oxygen rapidly. If it comes in contact with a dilute acid, the reaction between them can be very strong and it may lead to explosions and fires . For safety reasons potassium is not used to prepare hydrogen in laboratories.
  2. This is because Copper is less reactive than compared to Hydrogen thus cannot displace it from any acid.
