1. because only bhramins and Kshatriya knows about the Sanskrit and no one caste knows about it. They were talk in their local language

1. Ambedkar thought of having Sanskrit as the National Language. The idea was opposed and later dropped due to an argument that most of the people in India are illiterate and so they cannot understand Sanskrit. This is why Hindi was picked as one of the official languages as it was the most used language India.
