1. Critique on P.B Shelley as a poet
Percy Bysshe (P.B.) Shelley lived between 1792–1822. He was a renowned English poet. A few of his famous works are The Triumph of Life, The Revolt of Islam, Adonais, Prometheus Unbound etc. He was widely criticised because of the troubles in his personal life, being an atheist and his philosophies were considered unorthodox. Critics said his poetic imagination was vague and he came to be known for being immature emotionally.
2. High Modernism in English
High Modernism is a form of modernistic poetry. It shows an attempt to self-consciously do away with the traditional ways of writing poetry. Modern literary or poetry writers were influenced by thinkers like Karl Marx and Sigmund Freud and Karl Marx. Modernists said that breaking the usual social norms were not because of a person being childish or ignorant, but because of the nature of humans beings and the need for change according to the times.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------How were the High Modernists different from the Post modernist poet:
Modernists began their work in the beginning years of the 20th century. Poets of these times, wrote in reaction to Victorian poetry, and gave emphasis on traditional formal writings and importance to diction. Modernists looked back to the poets in earlier times and poets of other cultures. These poets did not follow the tradition usually seen in poetry or used these traditions, coupled it with their own understanding to create a kind of poetry which was completely new in that age. The motivations for the creation of this kind of poetry was World War I and the effects of the war on the degradation of social values. Name of a few modernist poet's are T. S. Eliot, Walt Whitman, William Faulkner, etc
