liberates H3O+ [hydronium ions] in aqueous solution
EG : Hydrochloric Acid [ HCl]

ALKALI

liberates OH- [hydroxyl ions] in aqueous solution
EG : Sodium Hydroxide [NaOH]

2. Alkali metals are silvery, soft and not very dense . They can easily cut with knife example: Sodium hydroxide, potassium hydroxide.
