(1 - x)(1 + x + x ^{2} ) \\  = 1 + x + x ^{2}  - x - x ^{2}  - x ^{3}   \\  = 1 - x ^{3} ( - x  \: and \: + x \: and \:  + x ^{2} \: and  - x ^{2} cancelled)

So final answer = 1 - x^3
