Sir
Through the columns of your esteemed newspaper, I want to draw the attention of the concerned authorities regarding the evil effects of drinking of alcohol.
As we all know drinking effects our health and injures body beyond repair. Not only physically but it also has bad impact on our social life. Alcohol intoxicates a man and makes him a beast. A drunkard brings a stignma on his family and lowers their prestige. An addict, particularly if he doesn't earn much, neglects his home and health and spends his earnings on the purchase of alcohol. Drinking leads to disintegration of a family. Frequent quarrels, because of alcohols leads to suicides as well. Drinking leads to anti-social activities, thefts and murders as well. A drunkard can do any illegal action for his addiction.
Drinking leads to loss of health, wealth and character. It's an infectious phenomenon. The tribe of drinkers is increasing as liquor is freely available in Govt. shops. It has become rather fashionable to drink these days. The anti-drinking campaign can be started by publishing one slogan against drinking daily on the front page of the newpaper. Rehabilitation centres should be opened. The manufacturing of alcohol should be curtailed. Moral education must be imparted to make people aware of right and wrong. The social evil of drinking can be uprooted if we are determined to fight against it. Its evil effects must be highlighted by all possible means.
