8 August 2020, Dimapur: Youth club of Dimapur recently organised a seminar to highlight the harmful effects of the deforestation and spread awareness about it among the students and youth. Eminent personalities, biologists and environmentalists were invited to share their thoughts on the issue. The program started at 10 am in the morning and lasted till 4 pm.
First, the scientists gave talks about how deforestation was affecting India, especially hilly stats like Nagaland, its harmful effect on the forest economy and suggested remedies.
Various schools from across Nagaland participated and performed plays, it was followed by painting competition. The winner was awarded 20,000 rs and a certificate.
The program succeeded spreading awareness about deforestation and instilling a spirit among the young students to conserve the nature and tackling the deforestation.
