Explanation: m(2u) + 2m(-u) = - mv1 + 2mv2

Here we are considering that upon Collison the bodies went in opposite directions. If wrong we will get negative for the velocities which means our assumption can be modified.

So upon solving above we get

2v2 = v1

And e(2u-u) = v1-v2

u/2 = v1-v2

So upon solving we get v1 = u and v2 = u/2
