Answer:

Our equations are:

9−6=3

9+6=3

Add both equations together so that we get

18=6

Then subtract  6  from both sides so that:

18−6=0.

But we also know that:

18−6=12

meaning we have proven

12  =0.

Finally:

8+6=14=14−0=14−12=2

So  8+6=2

Instead of a number line we have a number circle where overlapping numbers denote the same point or value.

We can make the circle even smaller and get the same results - as long as  0  overlaps any multiple of  3 . Ie  0=3,6,12  etc
