1. Answer the following question after
reading the paragraph
A mirror X has following observation
When the object is is placed at Infinity the
image is formed at focus of the mirror
When object is placed at 60 cm from the
mirror a real image is formed at 10 cm
from the mirror on same side
Answer the following based on the data
given above
(1) the mirror is
(ii) the focal length of the mirror is
(iii) give one use of the above mirror​

(i) concave mirror

(ii) focal length is –8.56cm

(iii) commonly used as torches, search-lights and vehicle headlights

Explanation:

(i) real image only forms with concave mirrors

(ii) we have given v= –10cm and u= –60cm

to find focal length use, 1/v + 1/u = 1/f ;

therefore, 1/-10+1/-60 =1/f

therefore, f = –8.56

(iiil)it used in torches, search-lights and vehicle headlights because to powerrful parallel beam of light.
