Solution:

Work done by horizontal force:

w = F .d

where F = mgu

w= 5*10*0.5*0.1

w=2.5joules

Work done by Friction:

w = F .d

where F = mgu

w= 5*10*0.5*0.1

w=2.5joules

hence work is done by friction against the motion so,

w= -2.5joules
