10. A manufacture of T.V. sets produced 600 sets in
the third year and 700 sets in the seventh year.
Assuming that the production increases
uniformly by a fixed number every year, find
(i) the production in the 1 st
year
(ii) the production in the 10th

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Yearly production values will be in Arithmetic Progression.

d be the fixed production increase every year

3rd year production = 3rd term = a+2d

7th year production = 7th term = a+6d

a+6d - (a+2d) = 700-600 = 100

4d = 100

d = 25

a+2d = 600

a+50 = 600

a = 550

Production in 10th year = a+9d = 550+9d = 550+225= 775.

Sum of n terms of AP = n/2( first term + nth term)

Total production in seven year = 7/2(550+700) = 4375.
