Answer:

Heres your answer

Explanation:

(i) the electrostatic force of attraction is very strong, the charged ions are held in fixed positions. So, they are hard and rigid

(ii)The strong force of attraction between oppositely charged ions means that  large amount of energy is required to break the strong bonding force between ions.

(iii)A solid ionic compound does not conduct electricity because the ions are not free to move. Whereas in molten state, the ions are free to move.

(iv) Since, all ionic compounds have a high lattice energy, to dissolve the compound, the more polar solvents are better since they have to overcome this lattice energy

(v) The cations and anions are held together by strong electrostatic force of attraction in an ionic compound. Therefore, the volume decreases. Volume is inversely  proportional to density. Density increases.

(vi)due to presence of non directional bond bw ions
