hey mate here's the ans

X=35°. (vertically opposite angles)

y+X+40°=180° because it forms a linear pair and a straight line.

so now placing the value of X that we found above

y+35°+40°=180°

y=180°-75°

y=105°

therefore we conclude that X=35°

y=105°
