Solution

Given :-

  • Equation, x² + 5x - 24 = 0

Find :-

  • Zeroes of this equation,
  • Verified relation between their zeros.

Explanation

Let,

  • First zeroes be A
  • Second zeroes be B.

Then,

➡x² + 5x - 24 = 0

➡x² + 8x - 3x - 24 = 0

➡x(x+8) - 3(x - 8) = 0

➡(x+8)(x-3) = 0

➡(x + 8) = 0 , (x - 3) = 0

➡x = -8 , Or, x = 3

Thus,

  • First zeroes be = A = -8
  • Second Zeroes be = B = 3

_______________

Now, Calculate relationship .

➡ Sum of zeroes = -(Coefficient of x)/(coefficient of x²)

➡ A + B = -5/1

➡ A + B = -5

And,

➡Product of zeroes = Constant part)/(coefficient of x²)

➡ A. B = -24/1

➡A.B = -24

That's relation between zeroes & coefficient .
