As when CO

is absorbed in lime water, the mass of soln increases by 27.5 gm

∴ Mass of CO

2

=27.5 gm

∴ Mass of H

2

O= (Mass of hydrogen + Mass of oxygen − mass of CO

2 )

=(10+40−27.5) gm

=22.5 gm
