Hey mate,

Since one zero is -1

Hence the factor is (x+1 )

Dividing the f(x) by this factor .

( see in attachment )

The quotient becomes = x-8

we know ,

by division algorithm ,.

F(x) = Q(x) × G(x) + R(x)

Now, x-8 = 0.

x = 8

Thus the other zero is 8

Hope you find it helpful!!!!

Step-by-step explanation:

f(x) = x^2-7x-8

-1 is a zero,

(x - -1) = 0

x + 1 = 0

x = 0 - 1 = -1

Sub. x = -1 in f(x),

f(-1) = (-1)^2-7X-1-8

= 1+7-8

= 0
