L =  3x - 2y + 5 if (-2, 6) is the image of the point (4, 2) with respect to line L = 0

Step-by-step explanation:

(-2, 6) is the image of the point (4, 2) with

respect to line L = 0

Mid point of  (-2, 6) & (4, 2)  with lie on L

mid point = ( -2 + 4)/2 , ( 6 + 2)/2

= 1 , 4

Slope of   (-2, 6) & (4, 2)

= (2 - 6)/(4 -(-2))

= -4/6

= - 2/3

Slope of L = 3/2

y = 3x/2  +c

1 , 4  lies on this line

=> 4 = 3/2 + c

=> c = 5/2

=> y = 3x/2 + 5/2

=> 2y = 3x + 5

=> 3x - 2y + 5 = 0

=> L =  3x - 2y + 5
