10 Marks. Al2O3 is Aluminium Oxide but why is O3 instead of O2 .Fe3o4 is Iron Oxide.Why is O4 instead of O2?

It is O3 because Aluminium has a valency of +3
In the second case, Fe has both valency of +1 and +2, the salt Fe3o4 is a mixture of salt FeO and Fe2O3, hence 4 came.
