Given :  10 men can complete a piece of work in 34 days, 16 women can complete the same piece of work in 56 days. 5 men and 18 women work together for 20 days.

To find : Remaining piece of work in 4 days along with a boy who does 10 units of work per day, how many women would be required

Solution:

10 men can complete a piece of work in 34 days

=> Total Work  =  10 * 34 = 340 Man Days

16 women can complete the same piece of work in 56 days.

=> Total Work = 16 * 56 = 896 Woman days

340 Man Days = 896 Woman days

=>  85 Man =  224  Woman

=> 1 Man = 224/85 Woman

5 men and 18 women work together for 20 days

= 100 Man days  +  360 Woman  Days

= 100(224/85)  + 360  Woman Days

=  53000/85  Woman days

Work remaining = 896 - 53000/85  Woman days

= 23160/85 Woman days

a boy who does 10 units of work per day  40 units

(not clear what is the exact meaning )

Assuming (23160 - 40)/85 = 272

Remaining Work to be done in 4 days   by W woman = 4W  woman days

4W = 272

=> W  = 68       so 68  Woman required
