Given :-

The area of four walls of a room is 144 m².

The length of the room is thrice is breadth and the height is 3 m.

To Find :-

What is the area of the floor.

Formula Used :

➦ Area of rectangle = Length × Breadth

Solution :

Let, the breadth be b m

Length be 3b m

And, the height will be 3 m

According to the question :

↦ Area of four walls = 144

↦ 2h(l + b) = 144

↦ 2 × 3(3b + b) = 144

↦ 6(4b) = 144

↦ 4b = 144/6

↦ 4b = 24

↦ b = 24/4

➠ b = 6

Therefore, the breadth is 6 m.

Hence, the length will be :

➲ Length :

↦ 3b m

↦ 3(6) m

↦ 3 × 6 m

➠ 18 m

Now, we have to find the area of the floor :

↦ Area of the floor = Length × Breadth

↦ Area of the floor = 18 m × 6 m

➠ Area of the floor = 108 m²

∴ The area of the floor is 108 m².

Step-by-step explanation:

given

•The area of four walls of a room is 144 m².

•The length of the room is thrice is breadth and the height is 3 m.

•Area of rectangle = Length × Breadth

Solution :

And, the height will be 3 m

According to the question :

Area of four walls = 144

2h(l + b) = 144

2 × 3(3b + b) = 144

6(4b) = 144

4b = 144/6

4b = 24

b = 24/4

b = 6

Therefore, the breadth is 6 m.

Length :

3 (b) m

3(6) m

3 × 6 m

= 18 m

Area of the floor = Length × Breadth

Area of the floor = 18 m × 6 m

Area of the floor = 108 m²
