here

2+3=3*2

5=6

so the nos are 2 and 3

sq of 2 =4

sq of 3=9

sum=13

given, x+y=5 & xy=6

 {(x + y)}^{2} =  {x}^{2} +  {y}^{2} + 2xy \\  {5}^{2} =  {x}^{2} +  {y}^{2} + 2(6) \\ 25 =  {x}^{2} +  {y}^{2} + 12 \\  {x}^{2} +  {y}^{2}  = 25 - 12 = 13
