To find the zero of a polynomial we just equate the polynomial to zero

So

Let f (x) = 0

But f (x) = 2x + 7

So

2x + 7 = 0

2x =  - 7

x =  \frac{ - 7}{2}

So x = - 7/2 is the required zero
