(total weight of boys)/24 = x

total weight of boys = 24x --------------------------------------------(1)

total weight of girls = total weight of boys - 90

total weight of girls = 24x - 90    [From (1)]  --------------------------(2)

average weight of class = 25

(total weight of boys + total weight of girls)/24+x = 25  [From (1) and (2)]

[24x+24x-90]/24+x = 25

(48x-90)/24+x = 25

48x-90 = 25(24+x)

48x-90 = 600+25x

23x = 690

x = 690/23

x = 30

Therefore there are 30 girls in the class.
