✳ Velocity-time graph for the motion of an object in a straight path is a straight line parallel to the time axis.

     (a)  Identify the nature of motion of the body.

(b)  Find the acceleration of the body.

(c)  Draw the shape of distance-time graph for this type of motion.

✒ (a) The nature of motion of the body is in uniform rectilinear motion .

(b) The acceleration of the body is zero , as the graph is parallel to the x axis which means the slope of the graph is zero. The slope of a v-t graph gives the acceleration and as here the slope is zero so acceleration is zero too.

(c) The shape of distance-time graph for this type of motion is refers to the attachment .
