Sri Narayana Guru gave and popularized the 'One Caste, One Religion and One God'. His atheist disciple Sahadran Ayyapan inspired this principle.

  • He built a temple dedicated to Lord Shiva at Aruvippuram in the year 1888, which was against the caste-based restrictions of that time.

He taught people equality, he felt that inequality should not be used for prosecution because it creates chaos in society. He anointed a temple at Kalavankode and placed a mirror in place of the idols and statutes in the temples. It symbolized his message that God is within every person, not in just a statue of an imaginary soul.
