10 years from now, Jane will be 3 times her present age. How old is she now?

Solution :
           Let the present age of Jane = x years
       After 10 years ,
         Jane's age = x+10
According to problem ,
               x+10 = 3x
             or 10 = 3x - x
             or 10 = 2x
             or 10/2 =x
             or 5 = x
           or  x=5
Hence Jane is 5 years old.
