Given : Heat produced in resistor, H = 100 J and Resistance, R = 5 ohm

To find : Current across the resistor

Solution :

• Heat produced in the resistor is given by formula as given below :

H =  {i}^{2} Rt

where i = current across the resistor, R = resistance and t = time

• We are given t = 1 sec, H = 100 J and R = 5

i = √H/Rt

= √100/5

= √20

i = 2√5 A

Hence, current through the resistor is 2√5 A
