100 nss volunteers set up a camp to help flood hit area of uttarakhand each group of 10 volunteers erected a conical tent made of tarpaulin the vertical height of the conical tent is 4 m and the base diameter is 6 m if the width of tarpaulin is 1.5 m then 1.Find the length of tarpaulin used assuming that 10 % extra material is required for stitching margins and wastage in cuttings. 2.Which values are displayed by volunteers

Step-by-step explanation:

Radius = 3 m

Height = 4 m

Let the length of the tarpaulin be X .

l = √h² + r²

 = √ (4)² +(3)²

 = √ 16 + 9

 = √25

 = 5 cm

CSA of the tent = πrl

                          = 3.14 x 3 x 5

                          = 47.1 m²

Since there are 100 volunteers there must be 10 tents

Area of the tarpaulin for 10 tents = 47.1 x 10

                                                       = 471 m²

Since 10 % of the material is used in stitching and wastage

Area of tarpaulin used = 471 - 471 x 10/100

                                      = 471 - 47.1

                                     =423.9 m²

CSA of tent = Area of the tarpaulin

423.9 = 1.5 x X

X =  423.9 ÷ 1.5

   = 282.6 m

The value shown here is helping mind for others difficulties without expecting any reward or prize .
